What's In Orlando?

About a year ago I transitioned from Fort Lauderdale to Orlando. A question I had for my relatives living in Orlando was "What's in Orlando besides the tourist attraction areas?"

Initially, I moved to Orlando for work. However as time passes I've come to  have a stronger appreciation for Orlando. Nowadays whenever someone asks me what's in Orlando I'll say there is balance.

Most people know Orlando for tourist attractions such as Disney World and Universal Studios but there's more to this beautiful city.

Orlando is at the center of different residential areas perfect to raise children and start a family.

I say so because Orlando has quiet towns such as Winter Park, Altamonte Springs and Apopka.

One of my favorite nearby Orlando towns is Winter Park. Winter Park is clean, has tons to do and preserves its classic architecture. At downtown Winter Park they're intentional about not tearing everything down to look "modern".  It's a nice small town with about 30,000 people in it. If you go to Downtown Winter Park at any time you would love it. They have some of the nicest restaurants around. Along with some of the nicest people and great parks to jog or walk your dog.

Another area to consider in the Orlando area is Apopka. Apopka is not as well known as other Orlando towns but it's a great town with affordable homes, great schools, quiet and slow paced. Apopka is one of the reasons why I call Orlando balanced. Close to Apopka is Wekiva Springs park where you and your family can go canoeing. Or you can check out Magnolia Park, which is a huge park with nice pavilions to host events in.

The third small town near Orlando I would like to talk about is Altamonte Springs. Altamonte Springs is a small town with 55,000 people. It has a great school system, it's clean and quiet. But even though it's quiet with not too much population, Altamonte Springs is in no ways boring. There Is a beautiful Park that I love to take my walks in called Lake Crane Park. Lake Crane Park has a big Lake of water with a clean walkway, grassy area to relax in and even a show area around the Lake.

And of course if you do not want to relax and you want more to do you can always just go to the International Drive or Dr Phillips area to enjoy a nice restaurant or find something fun to do.
